Accountant Jobs: General Accounts Manager



A Large Size Retail Company, locations in Doha, Qatar is recently requiring accountant to place the position of General Accounts Manager.


Job Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in accounting or CPA or equivalent is preferred
  2. Has at least 9-12 years experience in accounting
  3. Has computer literate including MS Office and Accounting Applications
  4. Read, speak, and write both Arabic and English
  5. Has personal traits: problem solver, analytical thinking, achievement oriented, accountable and responsible, and excellent communicator

Jobs Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the chart of accounts and approve any modification or the opening of a new account in the general ledger
  • Review the provisions booked against doubtful and bad sales.
  • Provide concerned units with necessary instructions for the proper preparation of accounting entries related to: Accrued/prepaid expenses, accrued/deferred income, Payroll, Social Allowance contributions and Fixed assets and depreciations
  • Provide units with the proper explanation of accounting principles
  • Review and follow up the submittal of income declarations and related settlement
  • Ensure proper maintenance of capital expenses, general expenses and depreciations’ records and approve related accounting entries
  • Approve payment requests for capital expenses, general expenses and related accounting entries
  • Review staff loan disbursement checks, and forward to Finance & Planning concerned Authorized for signature and approval
  • Review all the department’s accounting entries
  • Check the consolidated daily journal and verify daily transactions
  • Respond to internal requests
  • Review the department’s reports
